This Blog is a Work in Progress and is Dedicated to All the  Remarkable & Wonderful Beings who Share my Journey and whom Allow me to Share Theirs.

Mother & Aunty

I am a Patchouli wearing Mother, Wife, Daughter, Aunty, Sister, Friend, Vegan, Neighbour, Employee & Volunteer. These are the roles that Define & Complete me. They are not separate roles. They are each a part of me & each part interchanges with the other.

Caring for my Family is my Guiding Principle. My Husband, Robbie is my Foundation on which I balance Everything. He is my Centre of Gravity and my World is Grounded by the Support he Constantly showers me with. Being with him is basically like being with an Outer Version of myself.

My Children are my Raison’D’Etre. They are my Greatest Gift and Consume my Thoughts and Plans. Matthew and Bleu have been A Beautiful Blessing and have and Will Always come First even though they aren’t really “Children” anymore! They Fill me with Pride, Warmth and Joy (as well as Great Frustration and Anxiety!)

I am driven by the philosophy that kindness & respect for all beings is Our Moral Duty and that ALL beings deserve a life free from Fear, Pain & Suffering. Non Human Beings are here WITH us, Not FOR us. I have an Appetite and Passion for Life but not Always the Energy to Sustain it. I want to do So Much more that I do but am gradually Accepting my Limits and Recognizing the Person I am while continuing to strive to be the Person I want to be: ………

I am Painfully Aware of the damage being wreaked upon Mother earth, Humanity and All Our Fellow Relations by the Human Species.  However, I believe in the Power of Love, I believe in the Power of the Natural World and our Deep Connection to it, so I believe that we have it in our Power, to Heal the Planet and our Relationship with it.

I  know that if we don’t take steps to Repair the Damage we have done, Humanity will soon be Deeply Ashamed and Sorry for How we have and continue to Hunt, Use, Abuse, Inflict Pain & Kill Our Fellows, no matter what Species. It will be humiliating to explain to future generations why we Pillaged the resources of an Earth that we have ALL been given the Privilege of Living on, No matter What Animal we are born as.

We All have the ability to Make a Difference in our Own Ways No matter How hard it gets. I regularly feel paralysed, powerless and immobilized by the grief I feel when I see the disconnect people have towards our fellow beings and it is hard for me to see  humanity moving forward to a more harmonious ways of living. However, I know that I need to spend the time I have been blessed with, to channel that Frustration & Sadness effectively in the hope that by doing my bit, I can influence and inspire others.

I keep myself Motivated by telling myself that although our Collective Situation can seem so Hopeless, Each of us as Individuals can Contribute So Much if we put our Minds to it.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.

I aim to Live a Life that Nourishes me and Lights me up and I want to Inspire others to believe that they can have that too.  Real Happiness comes from having a Meaningful Purpose in our Lives and for me it is being part of an Expanding circle of Compassion and Justice and changing lives by the actions I take in all my roles.

We Can build a Rich and Joyful life by paying attention to the little things; Birds Singing, Flowers Blooming; Rainbows; A Smile from a Stranger;  Sunshine;  Stars; A Beautiful Crescent Moon or a Bright Full one; The list goes on and on and on but what all these have in common is that they are all … Free.

The saying “The Best things in Life are Free” couldn’t be more true. Feast your senses to what’s around you and feel the sap rising to your heart! That’s what I try to do Every Day.

If we choose Positivity, Focus on the Little things and Notice the Bright and Beautiful in Every Day, we can see with Clarity, give ourselves space for Creativity and Connect with the Natural World rather than the Materialistic one which can sap our energy!

AntiMaterialism is good for the Soul and Planet and we could all get by on much less if we change our priorities. I have to remember that Every Day because I am Very Guilty for “Wanting” Stuff.

I am not ignorant to the Challenges some of us face and I have met and know, through my paid and voluntary work,  Many Individuals who have had to deal with huge Adversity and  who have experienced Unimaginable Trauma. Some have found a way to climb their own Personal Huge mountains and descend the other side having found peace. For Others, finding the positive, finding joy and finding peace is impossible.

I am So grateful and Humble for where I find myself on this Transient Journey called Life and I want to spend the rest  of the journey being Compassionate, Understanding and determined to be the Change that I want to see in the World.

I understand that by doing things that fulfil us and fill our hearts with Warmth, We have More to give back.  When we live our lives aligned with Our Values and Passions, We have more Energy, a sense of Belonging and Self Belief  and we can  find our direction.

To Finish this Introduction to myself, I will end with two of my Favourite Quotes that Say Much about the Person I Strive to Be.

If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day
